Congratulations Mrs Matthews! HLTA of the Year Eastern Region Winner. We are all very proud of you.

Welcome

Welcome to Kimpton Primary School!  I am delighted and proud to be headteacher at such a caring and welcoming school where pupils, staff, governors, parents and the school community work extremely hard and have high expectations of one another.  We are committed to the highest standards of teaching and learning – achieved through a combination of challenge, support, encouragement and praise – to ensure that all students fulfill their potential.

Our school is situated in the beautiful village of Kimpton, in Hertfordshire, between Harpenden and Hitchin. Kimpton Primary School is an average sized village school which includes a morning only nursery, catering for children from 3 to 11 years of age.

Everyone at Kimpton is immensely proud of our school. It was rated 'Good' by Ofsted following their visit in October 2013.  Kimpton is a caring school, with a team of dedicated professionals with high expectations who all aim to ensure that our children get the most from their education. Every member of staff is committed to providing the children with a safe, happy environment where the children can make the most of every learning opportunity offered to them.

We aim to be a school where all the children are inspired to see learning as a lifelong experience, thus empowering them to make good choices in later life.  A growth mindset and achievement are at the heart of our philosophy; we support this through nurturing pupils’ creativity, encouraging independent thinking and learning and showing that mistakes can be a learning opportunity.  Our team of teachers inspire a love of learning through their exciting and enthusiastic approach to topic areas.  Learning comes alive through the opportunities that each class are offered.

"Topic themes provide many memorable experiences and support the pupils’ spiritual, moral, social and cultural development well." Ofsted 2013

The school promotes the best possible academic, cultural and moral values. All our children, regardless of background, culture, religious belief or ability, are equally valued, supported and challenged.

"Each pupil is known as an individual. This enables the school to provide each with the right sort of challenge and support." Ofsted 2013

Thank you for visiting our school website.  We hope it provided you with  a wealth of information about the school and our offer to pupils. We are very proud of our school and welcome visitors - we would be very happy to show you around our vibrant learning environment.

We look forward to meeting you.
